I can't believe you
Of all the people in the universe
You were the one to resist this temptation

Once upon a time I thought of you as a rival
Someone to beat
But now, looking back on it
You were always the stronger one

I remember that last mission
I vowed to be better than you
I would tease you
And call you 'Sammy'
When I knew you hated it
But I wanted to beat you
And say that I was the better hunter

We were both good
Because your strengths weren't mine
And mine weren't yours
We were individuals striving for the same goal

When I awoke after that
I don't know when the thought of you crossed my mind
I only knew that your body lay in that cold metal chair
Your heart barely beating
I thought I had won, because I was alive

How nieve I was

Eventually I felt myself changing
Thoughts of destruction crawled under my skin
So when she temped me
I fell so hard
How could I resist the darkness?

But that day
When I fooled you into thinking I was in need of your help
I saw you
Fighting, despite the pain of the corruption within
I knew it hurt
Because I had been in pain too
Until she released me

Trying so hard to escape

When I at last fell into your corrupted form
Something was different
I had become you many times before
But now we were too different

I reached for you
She was taking my body

But you stood there

Until I saw with fading eyes
Your hand curl into a ball
How hard it was to watch me go

I can't help you any more now
I wish I could've been as strong as you
And resisted for as long as you have
